IBEW Local 64’s Burgham Appointed to International Role


Jim Burgham, business manager for IBEW Local 64 in Youngstown, was appointed to the 8-person IBEW International Executive Council, effective this month. He’s the first local officer to ever hold this position.

Burgham represents District 3, comprised of Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Indiana and Michigan. His business manager role with Local 64 will not change.

“It’s an honor to represent our area and have a voice on a national level,” Burgham said. “I’m looking forward to having input on issues that affect the entire IBEW membership.”

Jim Burgham, IBEW Local 64 business manager, was appointed to the IBEW’s International Executive Committee, an 8-person council that rules on issues of significance for the entire IBEW membership.

The IEC comprises seven U.S. districts and one in Canada. Its duties include matters related to the IBEW’s pension, retirement benefits, Constitutional amendments and local union membership matters.

A lifelong Mahoning Valley resident, Burgham grew up in Poland and still resides in the village today. He’s been an IBEW member for 33 years, including 27 years as an officer and 18 as business manager.
